Surgeons' Hall Museums

With a remarkable world-class collection of bone, tissue, artefacts and artworks, the Surgeons’ Hall Museums should be on everyone’s Edinburgh ‘must see’ list. However, prior to the refurbishment in 2015 it wasn’t particularly well known amongst tourist or Edinburgh locals. The refurbishment allowed the development of new displays and galleries, doubling the number of items on show and creating a more interactive environment.

Using actual artefacts and the story behind them, The Union created a re-launch campaign in keeping with the Museums’ aim of capturing and inspiring the imagination of every visitor. This and a mix of attention-grabbing outdoor media, ambient and collateral marketing led to a huge increase in visitor numbers of +292%.
