The opportunity:
We’re seeking a curious, analytical thinker to join our team as a Junior Data Analyst to support both client and internal strategy through robust data analysis and digital marketing analytics.
We require someone with an open mind, a flexible attitude and a willingness to get involved. You will work within the insight and digital marketing teams in our strategy hub to translate data into meaningful insights that influence creative and marketing decisions.
The role is very hands on with opportunities to work on a wide range of projects. Your time will be split between data analytics, building data processes, and building / analysing digital marketing reports and dashboards. In summary, this is a role where you will get to learn various tools and analyse lots of different data within the marketing arena; the exact mix being determined by client requirements.
Your role:
Data Analysis / Data Science & Reporting
- Creating value for our clients through delivery of actionable customer analysis and reporting projects including: campaign analysis, discovery of customer insight, and / or ROI modelling.
- Digital reporting and dashboard creation to help our clients understand performance of their web sites and digital marketing campaigns.
- Application of data science techniques such as topic and sentiment analysis.
- Email marketing including the preparation of data, defining automated campaigns, and launching campaigns to the appropriate schedule.
Tools & Visualisation
- Coding in Python (and SAS / SQL) to query and manipulate data efficiently.
- Build and maintain visual dashboards using tools such as Power BI, Tableau or Looker Studio.
- Strong Excel skills within a Windows and MS Office environment.
Collaboration
- Work closely with strategy and planning, insight, digital marketing and account teams to understand requirements and deliver insights that inform strategy.
- Present findings to stakeholders in a clear and engaging way.
Process & Improvement
- Document and optimise data workflows.
- Automate regular reporting and other data processes.
The ideal change-maker:
We're asking for some experience in data analytics, marketing analytics, digital marketing analytics or a relevant internship/graduate role.
The winning candidate will be someone who likes to solve problems, help others, grow the business and gels well with the team.
- Self-motivated with a can-do attitude.
- Able to work in the Edinburgh office at least three days a week.
- Experience of using Python to manipulate data and automate data flows.
- Experience of Looker Studio or other data visualisation tools.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience working within Microsoft 365.
- Strong numerical ability and comfort working with large datasets.
- Excellent communication skills: able to explain quantitative findings to non-technical audiences.
- Well-organised with a keen eye for detail.
- Curious and good at problem-solving.
- A desire to learn and an interest in advertising, media or marketing.
