The pandemic and its numerous lockdowns had caused Historic Environment Scotland (HES) to pull up the drawbridge to its properties. But with spring in the air and the loosening of restrictions, it was the right time to raise the portcullis and welcome families back inside. Our ‘sleepy’ campaign tapped into many parents’ desire for memorable experiences and broke long-standing records for acquisition, in the midst of many site restrictions.
